Show-Me Central Habitat for Humanity: Making Dreams a Reality
Show-Me Central Habitat for Humanity is Columbia’s local Habitat for Humanity. Habitat is a non-profit organization founded on the basic principles that everyone deserves a decent place to live and a chance at homeownership. Homeownership has been proven to reduce neighborhood crime, improve student outcomes, produce healthier families, and provide financial stability. Qualifying families make 30%-60% of Boone County’s average median household income, but with community support, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families. Since 1989, Show-Me Central Habitat for Humanity has built 169 homes in Columbia and 160 homes internationally. Visit their website to learn how you can become a Dream Maker! showmehabitat.org
