“The Cure” – The Old Neighborhood Cafe

One night, after an evening of revelry, Jake Leitza did what a lot of us do; he decided to head to the kitchen for a snack. But, Jake is a chef, so he wasn’t going to throw some ramen in the microwave and call it good.  Instead, Jake was about to create one of the best sandwiches he’d ever eaten. He grabbed a classic bagel, added ham and salami, and since tomatoes were in season, he topped it with a little homemade bruschetta and balsamic glaze, and in that moment “The Cure” was born.

When Jake and his mom, Vanessa, decided to open The Old Neighborhood Cafe, with Jake as the head chef, they KNEW this sandwich had to be on the menu. “The Cure” now features cream cheese, ham, salami, thinly-sliced onion, tomatoes, lettuce, mozzarella, and balsamic glaze, and is one of the most popular items on the menu. Drop in to The Old Neighborhood Cafe and have “The Cure” – I promise, you won’t be disappointed. oldneighborhoodcafe.com
